Welcome to Prof James Rada!

My name is James Rada. As I said on my homepage, I don't usually invoke the title of professor, but since there's someone else who shares the name and is also field of journalism, I thought it best to distinguish who's who.  I'm on the faculty in the Department of Journalism at Ithaca College. Before I arrived at Ithaca, I taught at Howard University in Washington, DC. The 2024-2025 academic year marks my 35th year in education. During that time, I have had the chance to work with some incredible colleagues and phenomenal students.  If you go to my Documentaries page, you'll see some projects that I've worked on over the past 20 years.  It was a pleasure and a privilege to have Howard and IC students be a part of the production team.  Below, you'll find a list of some of the Experiential Learning Opportunities that I've been a part of during my time at Ithaca College.

  • Ithaca College student-journalists roduced segments for Syracuse-based PBS affiliate WCNY-TV’s Cycle of Health: Stroke & Post-Stroke Care (episode aired Sept. 1st, 2022) and Sports Medicine (episode aired February 2nd, 2022).
